Not accurate. Know of guys who only got promoted after 2 years and females some 3 years also never promote.

Promotion rates seem to vary person to person, school to school… and i understand that with leadership potential replacing CEP, promotion is supposed to be no longer time deterministic.
I wonder if I was shortchanged in the past though. My progression seems much slower than others I know.
GEO 3 to 4: 4 years (started out in 2011)
GEO 4 to 5: 4 years (became SH GEO 4 in 2018)
GEO 5 to SEO 1: 5 years (became HOD GEO 5 in 2021)
Was in school for 4 initial years of my career, went to HQ for 3 years, then went back to the same school as SH from 2018-2024. Left and currently in another school.
Others who are SHs have already become SEO 1 by the 10th year, while i only hit SEO 1 in my 15th year.
My performance grade has always been As and Bs, with exception of the time in HQ where I had C+s, and year of promotion to GEO 5 where I had C (and also coz I was on MLS).
I couldn’t understand why I took so long to be promoted too.
Does it mean I don’t have high potential and opportunity to move on one day to be a VP?

Doesn't this suggest that the claims on how progression has slowed down is not true. Because as you pointed out this has been an ongoing issue with people with more than a decades worth of teaching still not being at GEO5.
What's changed is that the people who aren't promoted are more active online, making it seem like its the majority when it may not be a sizeable chunk of the fraternity

any secondees or hq officers who didnt get invited for eps? mind sharing your pb grade? for data sharing purposes only.
anyways, not getting invited for eps might be a good thing. scouting for schools on your own can land you better opportunities

Just want to share that we seem to have similar timelines. I think for me, I'm ok with the fact that I'm topping off at HOD. It may come off as sour grapes but a VP is an admin job where you dont have as much contact with staff and students compared to being SH/HOD. I guess moving forward I'll just change schools whenever my time is up, and then step down eventually if I haven't quite teaching by then

HOD & VP are almost two entirely different jobs. Good HODs often make bad VPs cause the skillset is very different.

were you teaching in a primary school? seems like promotion 'journey' for my peers at secondary and jc are much faster than primary
