WOW, 7 years and more than double the starting salary...
I'm MX10, not MX11 and it happened only because my starting was low. I joined during a bad period (aftermath of 911, SARS).

Tks.. I notice the others' starting pays these days are much higher, i.e with time, they should do better.

In any case, that is the civil service's strategy. Better pay in the first few years. After that - you're stuck because of market irrelevance. If I could choose again, I would join the private sector in the beginning rather than the civil service.

Anyway we are digressing. What I was trying to say was - try not to join DSO. I'm trying to get my own friend out of DSO. To think I almost joined them. Lucky.

But in just 7 years, and getting 6.9k now, and by april another increment of 400-500, you should be getting abt 7.3k..

that is alot....

------------------------
you should be saying 3 promotion>>>MX13-->MX12-->MX11-->MX10, not 2

It's ok for MX I suppose. I said 2 promotions because during my time, 13 to 12 was only considered confirmation, not promotion.
