You only know how to sinkie sinkie whole day. U think we are entitled dumb fs with no idea what the market is ah?

Hello, most of us are far savvier with more sources of info & contacts than previous generations. and we know how to do our market research

we obviously know we r being lowballed by the big 4 compared with other industries and professional services. this whole sad situation came about because many eons ago, some ppl decided to adopt a lan lan suck thumb attitude and accept s hitty pay and below average graduate starting pay. the rest is history

I am 2nd year in KPMG and got slightly above 3 months as well. I think the previous guy must be poor performer or did something wrong and offend someone on top, otherwise bonus shouldn't bet that low...

Default GST Career in Big 4

Dear all,

Would like some opinions regarding GST career in big 4.

Some questions that I would like to ask:
-Is a career in GST gd in long run?
-It is a niche career, any possibility for secondment?
-What is the career progression like and will it be easy to join the commercial sector?

Feel free to add more regarding this career.

hope to have some opinions.

Thanks!

Angry So damn qualifications

Think salary should increase no matter what especially this intake. People in audit now has to undertake Singapore CA or other relevant qualifications such as ICAEW or CPA Australia. Especially when SCA 6 exams damn hard to even pass, while your managers and seniors could simply convert thru a 5 day course. 1.3m bonus? Such a joke. When the news gets out regarding the qualifications forced onto new intake, I bet many would quit after 1 to 3 years with shitty bonus and pay.

Default Life’s good in KPMG!

Looking at some of the comments made me want to express some of my thoughts.

I am a recent graduate who joined KPMG in July this year. I felt that the culture is truly inspiring here! We get many different activities arranged in the clubhouse every now and then and am very impressed by the onboarding session in one of the hotels and welcome night in zouk! Which firm could offer such benefits other than KPMG?

A overall pay package should not revolve around salary and bonus! There are other intangible ones as well. Look at the growth, developement as a professional, fun activities planned by the HR and intimate networking sessions wth the business partners! As new joiners, our division head partner placed great emphasis on us to bring us to clubhouse for a drink and shared his own collection of spirits with us on one of the evenings! It really great to be valued by the partners and felt important here! I doubt I will get similar treatments if I were to go somewhere else!

The kind of life in KPMG is inspiring, encourages growth and relationship building. These are beyond dollars and cents! Look beyond the money and look at the overall development and make the clear choice!

I am glad that I made the right choice and am enjoying my stay since I joined 3months back, and envisage myself to uphold their value in many years to come!

Juniors, make the right choice!

Is this part of the KPIs for HR associates?

hahaha joke. a few fancy clubhouse sessions and a nice induction programme and you've drunk the kool aid. you're easier to con than void deck grandmas man.

why don't you check back in 3 years time when you see how much your peers in other industries are making, and then tell us again how delighted you are to be here

haha cut him some slack la, after all he's just a fresh grad. How many people truly get to join a dream job after graduating with fantastic pay and fantastic growth opportunities with fringe benefits all thrown in.

Let not be wet blankets, KPMG is a good place to start. I also enjoyed my initial years there, good culture and many chio bus. We were all young and crazy, had some good "stories" with a few colleagues during our many drinking and clubbing sessions.

Alas, the fun tends to die out after 4-5 years, and I moved on for better prospects, better pay, better working hours.
