Sounds like your parents paid for the downpayment of your condo and your marriage expenses.
You are lucky.

I haven't really broken down my monthly expenditures like this before so it's an interesting exercise.

I'm 28 years old, living in HDB with wife, just married.

Take home after deducting CPF: $12k

Home loan installments: paid using our CPF, no cash

Charity: $1k

Parents: $500 (they told me not to give because they have more than enough, but I insist on giving some at least).

Utilities, S&CC: $100

Income tax: $1.1k

Living expenses (groceries, food deliveries, transport, games etc.): $1.5k

No car, mostly just take MRT as I bought a HDB walking distance from MRT

Insurance: $300

Savings = $8.5k

Goal is to pay off my HDB loan soon so I can find a less intense job after that and live a more cushy life. FYI, my job is crazy and I easily work till midnight everyday.

I guess the grass is always greener on the other side. Maybe need to find a good balance between salary and hours.

Don’t wanna reveal too much but I’m a professional.

I see, probably white shoe or magic circle or international bank.

Cos even young dentists (who earn a lot more than doctors) don't typically make that much.
