private banks generally more fast-paced and higher expectations. compensation should be slightly better nonetheless. what kind of ops are u referring to?

what function/role are u referring to? assuming cap differs depending on function too, e.g. FO vs tech vs ops differ?

I'm currently in DBS as an Assc with masters from NUS 2018, got a low rank because this was the only vacancy that took me in. Joined in Q3 2022, starting pay 7k, now only 7.1k and im waiting for increment/promotion to come next week.

pay inc is in late feb la brother, its always 1-2 weeks after our townhall

u get ur comp letter around late feb, also that guy is right

ure already at ur pay limit for assoc, confirm wont go higher than 7.2k, 7.2k is the new limit, back then it was 6.8k

hi, mind sharing how they decided on the 7k salary? was this what you asked for? how much were you drawing in your previous job before dbs? what is the expected increment/promotion pay bump %?

9k is the max, this one i confirm, my friend is senior associate in T&O dept, hes this rank very long alr, 3 years, hit ceiling 2 years ago, every year no pay inc, only abit more bonus to make up for no pay inc.

senior associate is not above 7.2k also, need to see whats ur starting salary first before the bump.

because there are lots of associates in dbs earning 5k+

to qualify for promotion, u must get either AT rating or hit their criteria ( 2+ years as associate + have degree + at least OT1 rating )

AT means above target, OT means on target, BT is below target.

so if u get AT1 or AT2 as associate, confirm will bump u to senior associate, but your pay will go from 5k+ to 6-7k only, won't go higher than associate ceiling which is 7.2k because their promotion is based on your starting salary + pay bump % + title change %.

I compared with my classmates who went in as snr assc in 2018, they draw 6.8k. I asked for 7 as i compared to my classmates. My previous place was in public healthcare was paying only about ~5k. Healthcare has very poor increment and pays way below market, even the DBS HR was shocked at how much i was drawing. I negotiated for a 35% bump with my future team leads, half expecting they would turn me down. In the end they took me because 2 other potential candidates withdraw their application and I was their 3rd choice. I almost turned down the offer to do a PHD but thank heavens I didn't make that stupid counter offer with my healthcare bosses. To my knowledge, my peers are now AVP / VP level drawing 8k (AVP) or 11k+ (VP) and yes I am very under ranked, but this was my only option so I had no choice.

Yes i meant my letter which was coming next week 8th Feb, already got appointment with my leads. I'm aware things will happen only end of month, like promotion notice and all.

The Q&A was harsh and hilarious, but heard from my director some tech departments are pissed off with the bonus cut from the outage last year - maybe mass attrition? From what I heard, I don't think it will come to layoffs yet since they said senior management will take the hit. Hard to say though, anyway i got a backup part time job to tide through just in case i get thrown under the bus.
