There isn't probation now. All new hires are offered a two year contract. After your contract is up, they will review your performance and consider if they want to convert you to permanent post.

what about leave policy for new hires? is there a period of time (6 months?) upon initially joining the ministry/sb where taking leave is not allowed?

asking because i might be starting a new civil service job but i want to take leave to visit my gf who is studying overseas.

31 yr old female, second upper hons, in a policy cum planning role drawing 6.7k at mx11a. Think im quite average.

You have 8 years of working experience? 6.7k at mx 11a with 8 yrs experience is considered quite good as compared to average pte sector worker.
Average total annual bonus = 4 months?
If that is so, you are earning close to 110k pa which is above average

Nope. You can apply leave unless your supervisor does not allow.

3.7k for 2nd upper, local uni, with NS
