Makes sense.

I like your earlier points. But I think the common generic FO banker at a top 5 bank, say GS, MS, JPM, BoA, Barx, I forgot the ranking anyway, has a better chance than the Harvard Law top law firm associate, in entering Blackstone.

If you want to end up in finance, start in finance.

Take it from someone who had to choose between Law and Economics (had offers for DDP from both NUS/SMU), chose the latter (studying at a top 3 global school) and already interned in IBD in a BB.

You sound super proud that you interned in IBD at a BB.

To all those who haven't, it's really not much of a big deal. The work you do can also be very stupid.

Does mentioning BX scare you? And please enlighten me what in my advice makes it 'advice'. I don't go on talking about things I don't know. Maybe you can try to argue against my basic, but still sound, advice. I'll reproduce it here:

I couldn't sense his pride. It must have been hidden in his convoluted sentence containing too many unnecessary parentheses, which I think didn't add to his goal of sound proud.

How did you know? I was quaking in my pants when I heard you mention BX. You don't mind getting something to clean up for me would you?

Work on your grammar before critiquing young boy.

Hope the last few posters are not honourable members of the Bar. What a disgrace it would be.

Anyway all my IB friends are having nightmares recently about getting retrenched.... a few had their dreams came true already
