2017 was a good year.

I have enjoyed 5 years of happy retirement from the corporate world. My wealth also grew in tandem with the global markets. My investments gave me a nice passive income for my livelihood.

I am blessed with many blessings. I own a three-bedroom luxurious condominium unit located in a good location, investment properties and stocks which generate passive income and a continental luxury sedan. I have a happy family, good friends, overseas holidays, etc.

I have also taken better care of my health. My health has improved. I can enjoy life more with better health.

I am very grateful for all my blessings.

I am looking forward to my 50th birthday.
I'm sorry this poster has caused undue concerns in this forum. Come..uncle...take your medicine n get ready to see your doctor at IMH. Rgds.

I have been unemployed since June 2016, its 1 year and 6 months since.

Darkest days of my life...really depressed and demoralised. Its been rejection after rejection, getting hopes up and only to be disappointed again and again...think roller coaster ride with sadness.

Its only last couple of months that I have secured a few interviews at one go....see my last posting on MOE and I really hope I get this one....on hindsight, I should have stayed in the Civil Service back in 2010...

Those who are in the same boat, please continue to fight on...there is no other way out but to be patient and be kind to yourself. Keep sending out job applications and stay positive...dont coop yourself at home...go for walks, do some temp job to kill time...thats what I did ...I know the feeling of just wanting to be by yourself...I know the feeling of pretending to be happy so as not to affect your loved ones...

Best of luck to everyone and to me...

There's lots of job opportunities if you're not choosy. In a worst case scenario, you can be your own boss. You can do some small business or become a taxi or grab driver. Don't waste time in forums.

Talking

I had a recipe for famous Penang Asam Laksa store (the owner of this recipe is based in KL and can sell up to 150 - 300 bowls per day for 6 hours operation time) and we planned to develop to Sg in hawker centre area with the same recipe. Wondering if anyone interested in learning the recipe and assist in opening the hawker store in SG.. You just have to give us some % of your revenue or profit after your hawker business started. I can give my contact if you interested and we can talk more about it.

My story also quite bad. I had a decent paying job $6k a month until my ex broke up with me and I fell into a very bad depression. I quit my job. Now I’ve been jobless for 6 months. Stupid reason to quit. She is still a lawyer. I’m jobless. When she was down and out I encouraged her to continue with her job. When things started to get better on her end, I encountered a rough patch. Instead of supporting me she broke up to find another lawyer.
I’ve been really depressed. No job, no gf, no career. And I am just sitting at home everyday.

Sorry to hear that....but whats done cannot be undone. Let her go.

Start focusing on your well being.

Stop sitting at home...go for a run, workout and get physically fit...you will feel stronger....you owe yourself that.

Things will get better with time, stay patient and strive hard applying jobs. Sometimes god empty your hands for something better. focus on your health and getting a job and everything will fall into place. take up any temp jobs to kill time and earn some.
