Under what circumstances do division/dept directors feel compelled to attend temp staff interview together with DD and HR? The role is individual contributor, not even a junior team lead.
From my past experiences, usually directors don't bother with temp recruitment. Only at the DD level. Not sure if it's becos boomers and gen x can't be bothered with menial issues and leave DD decide who to hire, or millennial directors are more hands-on with recruitment and more micromanagey? Anyone who has worked with both gen x and millennial directors in recruitment care to share some insights?

Well what’s the term under your contract? Is it a 1 year probation period before emplacement or fixed contract with possibility of extension?

Don't worry. Secondments are usually 2+1 years. The roles are not reserved for those on secondment - they will come back to what's available. Some HRs may do advanced planning to try to get them into the same department/position, but no guarantees.
All civil service positions start with a 1-year contract. Think of it as a 1 year probation. Nothing sinister there.

Shortlisted for final interview round at sb… anything I should expect? Are they still looking to eliminate candidates at this round, or is it mostly a tea session kind or formality? I’m so so anxious for this…
