Wrong on ur last sentences. Most fresh grads now their top choice is micron, atleast for engineering.
Infineon only offering 3.7k (contract) while micron 5k. Micron is still one of the top payer in semicon industry.. veryvery competitive to get in.

not too sure about how competitive it is, half my cohort (in my course) went directly to micron with a mass hire process. but yes among engineering it is not bad. but rly cant compare to tech.

btw micron got budget for courses and certifications like AWS etc?

competitive meh?

almost 30+ people in my batch also got in lol and half of them dont even want it

seems to me like a lot of micron haters or nuthuggers trying to spread fake news. i think micron is a pretty good company, its damn big also, F500 ranking, good name to have on resume but to say its very competitive is a straight up lie lol

Micron not competitive at all lah. Also not considered prestigious or anything. Recently they launched a mass hiring exercise and offered 5k to fresh grads, who obviously lapped it up.

Micron is quite easy to get in now. But here is the bad portion that no one likes to hear or choose to ignore, while the pay is really good short-term, no one seems to question the long-term path.

What if you find out that you don't like working in such a niche industry? If you want to switch career, you pretty much have to take a pay cut to start from fresh.

What if you want to job hop in the semiconductor industry, where can you go next? There's no bigger company than micron other than AMD if we're talking about those only in Singapore, it's very difficult to get a semiconductor company that pays higher than Micron now.

The company has a very high turnover rate for a reason, big RED FLAG.

if you hate looking at circuits, dont go this route. Once you enter, they expect you to know how to read circuits well. Many drawings you never see before in your school life ever. Many says long hours but pay is so-so. If you got no other choice such as need to pay back loans , house utilities etc, then go ahead. Else, faster go other route before you get old.
