- The number of years for promotion from GEO3 to 4 and GEO4 to 5 seem to be around 4-8 years each now?
- Salary adjustment cycles also seem to be getting longer and more delayed? From what I recall, it used to be every 3 years? Now it seems to be every 4 years? (exception of COVID, which took 7 years)
- The slowing of promotion rates and lower frequency of adjustments will probably help to stop people from reaching their ceilings too quickly? A quick, rough estimation will show that perhaps most HOTs will reach GEO5 at mid-40s...then maybe reach GEO5 ceiling by 50s...if going to GEO5A, then maybe reach GEO5A ceiling by mid-late 50s?

Salary adjustments adjust ceilings too.

How about C performance promotion from Geo 3 to 4? How long on average? I'm also a very happy HOT but concerned about ceiling in years to com

I know. But the rate that its being adjusted higher seems to be becoming slower than promotion rates and increment amounts? Which may be why many posts here mentioned about slower promotions and increments getting lesser?

So no different than people here who claim that they've done a lot and yet not been rewarded with good grades or promotions?

And I agree exactly to the point that if you are not recognizing our work done, then don't appoint us IC roles or coordinators roles. When there are work, you think of us, then during the grading, you forgot about us. How to work with passion like that?
Especially when I am only a GEO 2, keep asking me to IC this, Coordinate that. And all these extra work are not reflected on my PB grading.
I rather stay as GEO 2 and do my GEO 2 work all the way, then apply permission to teach tuition outside.

3rd year, including practicum? Nowadays seems like in their forth year (including the year they did practicum) then they get promoted from 2 to 3

Had a talk with my RO and other KPs. Conclusion after the talk: I felt I’m not the right person for this career. If an event manager mid career switch to become a teacher he will do a much better job than I do.
So everything I did last year was of little impact and routine job.As a GEO2, I have to do things that is innovative and impactful, in order to get a good performance grade and get promoted. It is not impactful enough, if it is just within the school. Need to outreach to stakeholders like community.
So after the chat, I understood why I was not promoted. I never expect a GEO 2 has to do till that extent to get promoted.
Okay, time to find a new job after my contract. One less passionate teacher in the service. Now I finally understand what my mentor told me before he left the school.
“You thought promotion so easy uh. Every extra things you did can be claimed as your routine job.”
