This is also why a number of GEO 5s who were dip and then eventually moved their way up, left service and rather come back as adjunct.

That’s that mean, even if I’m interested to further in leadership or teaching track, I’ll not be able to do so cause of my starting point? Feels like I’m doing so much more than required to just prove myself? I don’t know, feeling quite burnout, though I love what I do.

The negativity actually came from the fact that they asked me to accomplish tasks that are outside of my role and in the end, they just give me a very normal grade. The negativity did not come from the tasks themselves. I’m actually okay to do things outside of my roles, and I like to be exposed of new things. It’s like I did more, but my promotion rate is slower, that’s when my negativity came in.

Is your quantum high? i.e. if its a C, isit close to 1.5?
A: 2.8-3.5
B: 2.25-2.75
C+: 1.55-2.2
C: 1.1-1.5
C-: 0.5
If it's close to man quantum, it's possible that your RO tried to fight for you but you didn't not have support from other KPs to move you to the next perf grade. If that's the case, you need to expand your visibility.
But really, if u think u deserve better, move to a school that values you. Loyalty is not rewarded at work

If you got a C, is your quantum close to 1 5? Usually in such cases, RO did fight for you, but other KPs did not support moving you to the next PerfGrade. In this case, it's impt to develop more visibility to other KPs.
End of day, workplaces do not reward loyalty, move to a school that values you. You have free will

When fresh grads are given a starting salary of 3.8 to 4.3K imagine how teachers like us feel.

It was unfortunate that you got promoted during Covid period, the increment was lower. Unfortunately there's not much that even HR can do, as HR can only do broad salary reviews, not individual salaries.

I was PGDE, NUS FCH, male NS, but stuck at GEO 3 for 8 years. 2014 batch, 4 of my friends also in the same school. Only the PSC Scholar post to HQ n go to geo 4 faster than us.
Also PB all C, C+

You are asking three separate but linked questions.
1. Salary progression
2. Subgrade promotion
3. Appointment
Salary is determined by formula in system, but promotion and appointment is unlikely to be affected by your starting point as GEO1. I know of Dip holders who did well and promoted/appointed fast.

dk why people are so loyal to one school, you guys are clearly condemned by the school... move to a new school and restart your image.

agreed.
Mr own fault, it was very near my house (15 minutes) and good work culture, generally nice students. So I stayed, but after principal changed (after 7 years) I got B n promoted to geo 4 (following years) sometimes we all make the sacrifice n decision we ownself have to bear, and believe we can outlast ba.

Is performance grade usually a default C if one only works the first few months of the year and go on leave (e.g. hospitalisation, NPL) thereafter?
Between half-year FAJT (take NPL) and part-time (50-60%), which is better financial and workload wise? GEO 4 here. Thanks!
