I’m from BA. not PGDE. That’s why I’m wondering what’s the holdup to the promotion. Surely will have to promote no matter what else how can they retain teachers? Currently 4.5k gross on GEO2. After Desmond’s announcement, projected 5% increase maybe 5k. Is the promotion to GEO3 worth fighting for or it’s just going to be a $500 bump?

How to promote you if you are not doing well?

You’re not alone.. I know of people who didn’t get promoted too. Salary adjustment of $500 I think quite unlikely but if you jump from GEO2-3 then yes, there’s at least $500. You can think of it this way - by staying at GEO2 you’re still expected to do what a GEO3 or beyond does so might as well get promoted and earn more money while you’re at it?

the people on top are rather smart because they know what carrots to dangle to get people to stay. u already mentioned u have a connect plan payout at the end of next year...doubt people at your stage will dare to suddenly quit.

u finished your practicum in early 2023?

if so, your projected promotion timing will also probably be next year?

Hi, I saw people asking about connect plan payout. I’m a PGDE student, finished my practicum in 2024 mar. Which year in Dec can I get the payout?

Check your CONNECT plan statement in HRP. The year is in the last para.

Promotion is not an entitlement...

Practicum finished in 2019. I completed BA in 2022 Dec. My first official year of service was 2023. Seems like we teachers also don’t have consistent information on promotion. Life is good at GEO2. I don’t commit much salary and bonuses are decent. Waiting on connect plan this December.

New fella here. How does PSLE marking usually work? Heard that for some once done, they just zao home, some legit whole day one... I'm also guessing this is subject-dependent. Language teachers, do weigh in. (P.S Can claim Grab horh)
