Progression for non scholar is super slow and may take longer than the rest of the people in the same batch.

If it differs from school to school, then why blame MOE and the system and make sweeping statements about how progression is super slow for non scholars? Blame your P la.
You're not being logical.

Imagine you are a VP at 35 year old, sit in a ST/LT lesson ob and give feedback, do you think what you even say makes sense to them? Will you be convinced by what you yourself say to them??
And lastly, how many people can be consistent for 10 years to climb that ladder, you can’t even take a small breather as your position will be taken by younger teachers.

Why not? Should a person's age mean that what they say automatically should be disregarded? Just because someone's an ST/LT means their teaching is good? Read what a lot of posters have said before about how lots of STs and LTs suck at teaching.

I have 5 batchmates at NIE who I still keep in touch with. None of us are scholars.
All of us are SHs/HODs now, and all of us got SEO1 within 1-2yrs of each other. We averaged 11-12 years from GEO2 to SEO1, it’s not scholar speed but still decent.
Lets not demoralise new teachers by making them think its impossible to progress and that they will get stuck. You can still progress fine with consistent good performance.

Your batch must be high CEP batch then. Cause I can't say the same about mine.

Appeal for promotion
Has anyone successfully appealed against non-promotion?
If so, did you get promoted with immediate effect, or in Oct?

Is there such thing as cohort/batch promotion?
I started my BT-ship last year April. I heard that the guys who served NS will confirm get promoted this year April. But me and the other BT who are NS men are not in the promotion list.
Both of us got C for the Performance grade which I heard is quite a norm for 1st year BT. Anyone knows the reason for us not to be promoted?
A confused BT...

No such thing as ‘confirm’ la. Buy Mao Shan wang Durian also cannot say confirm good quality. Reasons for non promotion is a mystery to many people, even SLs won know because it is determined by HR. Your ‘C’ in your eyes, may not be a ‘C’ in actual fact. Can’t reveal much here, but if you know, you know. And that could be one of the reasons you are not promoted.

First week of April. How do you know you are emplaced if you have not yet received the email?

Usually SLs would have received info in late nov or dec. some SLs will inform EOs first. Emails come later.

For SHs that are SE01, do you feel that you're disadvantaged in a way if your fighting against HODs who are at the same rank as you? How to stand out when they clearly do more and impactful?

No way you can beat them by just doing SH work. You need to do a lot more at the HoD level of work (while carrying the SH role) to show you out beat them.
But beware, all this work you done that are HOD level may to passed off as their own work because they ‘guide’ or provide you with direction.
