Has doing that paid off? I customised each and every resume and cover letter to a smaller number of openings (maybe 20-30?) ended up with a few interviews which ended in rejection and one which accepted me where I have worked for the past 3 years.

I ask because I'm now looking to job hop if possible. My current job is in a stat board where progress is too slow and steady.
