Just accepted an engineer position E5 at ST Marine, FCH get 5.2k upon signing.

Really? As M1 I was getting >6.5K...
Each grade has quite a wide range of salary scale and depends on whether you can in with experience or not.

This is so true! My side hired two sales managers from Land and Aero as Senior Engineers. They have 6-15 working experience. Both of them only know how to talk loudly (just to get attention) and paste a lot of engineering drawings on the walls and yet,they don't know the actual engineering stuff. 100% wayang gao gao. Always talking on the surface level and beat around the bush. Doing engineering works without using formulas and physics. Learnt everything from and always wear suit and tie to work.
