My wife and I earned a combined salary of S$500,000 per annum.

We lived in a bungalow, worth S$5 mil, fully paid.

We have S$1 mil in cash and 3 condos, fullly paid.

We are both in our 50s and planning to retire soon.

Life is great. Our secret - investing in Singapore properties for the past 20 years and minimise spending and invest the rest.

Hi.I am another typical singaporean that manage to reach a reasonable networth of $2m (exclude primary residence) with no inheritance and an average combined income of $180,000 per annum. It is very possible to do it if you r disciplined and focus enough with a open mindedness to take bit of risks.I am aged 40.

Congrats on your achievement!

Is it combined net worth?

Considering the relatively modest combined income, I'm guessing you must have bet correctly in properties. Am I right?

Yeah unfortunately it is combined net worth so honestly there is nothing to be proud about lah.

Yes properties were part of my investment portfolio. They were integral to building wealth in Singapore.do take advantage of it.

At your age, you should have experienced both the property crashes in recent history (or both booms depending on how one looks at it). Don't you think prices now are quite ridiculous? Are you still holding or have sold?

Yeah entered property market when it was down and sold off most of my portfolio.Prices are high now so not brave enough now to enter market. Now older so not so garang anymore. It is about wealth preservation and slow growth for me.A quarter of my portfolio is now in professional hands.
