If your loans are around $2.3m, your mortgage payment is $12K, while your income is around $16K. Your taxes are around $1K. It must be very hard living on $3K a month!

You forgot to take rental income into account.

I know what you mean.
Money can take away a lot of unhappy things in your life. Many stressful issues can be erased by throwing money at them.
Except it cannot actually actively bring you happiness. It simply moves you to another level where you have to deal with another set of unhappiness. The things that you think will bring you happiness did so - but only for a short time, or turns out not so fun after all.

Part-time MBA from local private uni?
Take heart. KFC founder became rich only in the latter half of his life.
Or you can groom your kids to be better than you.

Masturbation
Well, seems like this forum is a collective effort of masturbation crossed with the usual Singaporean flavor of Kiasu!
I'm so glad everyone has a spare $600k sitting in cash, bully you. Though you do know holding cash in a hyper inflationary environment (I.e Singapore dollars) is akin to losing upwards of 8% per annum via inflation.
I think I've read through more than 250 responses and not yet found one example of real wealth. Only an example of one big collective wank.
For anyone seeking advice on active wealth management I would avoid advice here like a hole in the head.

I will turn 50 this year. I am a typical average Singaporean who works hard and saves hard. After the many years of hard work, I have achieved a net worth of $1 mil. This includes my share of the equity value of my property, property investments, CPF, cash savings.
I am but an average Singaporean. Many of my friends are wealthier than me.
So sad but what to do? Just go on with life .......
