7 years accounting, tax and audit; how much should I be paid?

hi, I'm CPA and ACCA qualified, with 7 years of working experience in accounting, tax, audit; and working knowledge of Oracle, Peoplesoft. My current pay is $3,750 (Gross includes bonus divided by 12 mths). Am i underpaid?

Hi,

Broadly (without knowing the specifics factors like industry, prior experience, other supporting certs, etc), it would seem that you are "under paid".

If are you coming from the mentality that with working knowledge of ERP (PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc) can 'accelerate' your income greatly, then I will draw your attention that the good days (late 1990s) are over. Those were the days whereby ACCA/CPA head towards being FICO (SAP 'speak') in doves, doing consulting etc.

Still, you may like to concentrate on your core competence in accounting and perhaps head towards IT auditing. [It will be beneficial to have CISSP/CISA type of certs though].

Also depends on your personal interests, luck and of course 'recognition' of effort by your boss/clients.

did you spend the all 7 years with the same company?

OMG you're certainly underpaid

7years of experience with those 2 qualifications can certainly earn you a minimum of 5k a month at any Big4! time to switch! (now that it's after bonus payout)
