Default Fresh grad wanting to know about digital marketing and market research analyst

Hi all! I'm currently studying an Australia degree in marketing(without honors) and I will be graduating this year. So I would like to know what's the job scope for digital marketing and market research analyst and also the salary range.

2.7k is possible for the bigger foreign ones. There are a lot of small local market research co. with 10-20 headcount - those tend to pay lower end of 2k+

Sorry, 2.7k is for local grads. And even then, some got like 2.4k..

For you, likely to be from 2k to 2.4k.

unless ur joining a mnc straight, most market research analyst are outsourced to companies. they are really just simple excel analysis and some ops ground work research.

those real high level technical specialist will look for top talent with exp or phd/masters from top unis and wont bother with a fresh grad aussie uni w/o honors and exp.

most will just gain 1-2 years of agency experience and then switch to client side because the pay is better.

imo, digital marketing is a better choice. I was also faced with the same choice when I graduated 7 years back and I chose digital marketing. no regrets. pay range would probably depend on what sort of company (agency or client side), what sort of position (digital marketing is very broad) and also how much experience you have (internships/temp/contract) you can try asking here for more info - s://.facebook.com/groups/DigitalMarketingSingapore/

It might have worked for you 7 years ago, but I wouldn't recommend joining the crowd when everyone is trying to get there now. There is way too many people flooding into alternative channel marketing, social media ap / branding, digital marketing r&d and online marketing. Bottom line is most of these jobs don't really require any in depth technical knowledge or even general softskill.

When it was just budding many years ago, supply was still limited. Nowadays it has become the default option for grads doing humanities, arts & soci, generic biz ad and all the leftovers from other disciplines who couldn't get into their first choice industry. End result is long work hours, contract job, low pay & bonus and difficult to progress.
