FYI, my business development manager is already earning 18k monthly excluding all allowances.

You should quit your job and join my department. I still need a assistant business development manager. I'll pay you 15k monthly excluding all allowances.

They all report to me directly. You too, if you join me.

Don't worry, I'm a good boss. Leave your contacts.

LOLX don't you just love the internet. Everyone can hide behind their screen and shoot their mouth off that's just lol-ness.

To "Guest", I'm actually only 24 this year, fresh out of NUS, and working as a Senior Business Development Director in media agency. I draw about 35K a month, excluding bonuses and allowances. I should also add that they pay me a special variable bonus of up to 200k per year based on the performance of my portfolio.

Yr terms are way bad dude. My advice is to quit while you can. 25K is way too low.

But dont ask me to hire you cos my requirements are probably beyon what someone like you
is capable of. But 360 degree feedback has revealed that people tend to think I'm an awesome boss.

So.... cheers!

The idea of MDES is to allow mid-stream recruitment to beef up the technical / engineering vocations in SAF.
let say if someone

2nd upper aerospace engineering NTU

he join ST aerospace as a engineer doing UAV & military aircraft maintenance for 15 years with last appointment as < principal engineer>, then by age 40, he decided to sign on RSAF as AFE, air force engineer under MDES.

So what rank will he be entering?
ME5 or ME6 ???

Your job scope? Just say "yes" all the time. I need strong support mah..

Was the earlier post by the "director earning $12k" also itself a response to some earlier post which claimed an even lower salary?

Great news to me in this depressed market for people like you.
My company’s turnover is greater than projected and next yrs forcast is better than this year’s.
I’m expecting a 20% – 25% increment next year.
Cheers!
Ron

Oh my.... Then where's your '20% - 25%' increment????? LOL!!!!!

Hey Ronaldo, Pls quit posting about your fake $12k job once and for all. U mentioned that u're very happy with ur (fake)pay in ur previous comments, then why keep asking whether $12k is ok or not? Here's something to refresh ur memory, ENJOY!!!

$ 4, 000 a month for client service manager at 29 years old is pretty low rite? or good pay? position is in media agency.. thanks! anyone pls help reply..?

- If Ronaldo can become a media director at age 27/28 earning $12k+, why would he even BOTHER to ask about a job as a CLIENT SERVICE manager at only $4k? Media and Client Service are completely irrelevant. LOL!!!

hey Sumit, my thoughts to you out loud, to me 12K is even hard to survive monthly considering my spending. 4200 S$ per month is hardly considerable for me.

Hi David Seah & Admin,
I just joined as Media Director and i am 28 years old. My experience is in media, advertising & marketing. I was actually headhunted for this position.
My pay is S$9,500 BASIC ,excluding entertainment, transport, handphone etc other allowances that is claimable.
My two other pals are in Advertising agencies as Account Directors and they are paid about S$8-9 k BASIC with the same claimable perks. They are only about 27 years old.
Admin, are these pay fair market value to us??
Thanks!
Cheers!
Ron

i have a pal who is 27 years old this year and he’s earning S$12k as an Account Director in established ad agency firm. JWT or Satchi & S i think.
I am a Media Director, my pay was S$9.5k basic. Within 2 months, I got confirmed way before my probation, promoted to Sales Director too and got commission/bonus element to my pay. Now I’m getting S$12k BASIC pay, excluding commission/bonus. I am only 28 years old this year.
I consider my pay average. Because my aim is S$15k as basic only, excluding everything else.
Admin, is this fair? Thanks!
Ron

- And so, 1 of his 'pals' whom he mentioned working as an Account Director was paid $8-9k basic/month ‘SUDDENLY’ raised up to a basic of $12K! Wow??

Don’t get me wrong I have no intentions to ” blast” anyone here and I have definitely didn’t put anyone down on purpose. I have no malice here but I am stating my truth. If no one believes me, so be it. If people believes me, I also don’t really care too. Just as long as my pay check reaches my bank account every month end , I am happy becos I can carry on my spendings and savings.
I didn’t say my salary in excess of 12K is great. I just felt its fairly sizable. David, there are definitely merits for being corporate jet pilot as maybe you can get a fatter paycheck. But as the rewards are good, you have a heavy risks too. You can fly and soar the skies like a bird but you can crash like there’s no tomorrow too.
Btw I don’t have to work late nights as you might have suggested. I usually knock off as I fancy normally 5-6ish pm. Though I am in media, but I control my time well and delegate things FYA properly. More importantly, i make the final decisions.
Good luck to flying the skies, just make sure you don’t crash
Cheers!
Ron

- A true knowledgeable person with EQ will know that there are much more risks driving on land than flying a plane in the sky. Obviously mr Low-EQ was jealous of someone for being a pilot earning a fat pay cheque. And a pilot's average working hours are between 80-120hrs/month - much lesser than most people working in/for a company. That dim wit R is seriously a low-EQ-no-brainer. Which company will hire a no-brainer for a Director post?

BTW if i tell you his monthly income of my friend who owns the yacht is from SGD$150,000 A MONTH being a life planner at Great Eastern and all this income is excluding his revenue from yachts and ships yet. Do you believe? Haha..
I can ask him to show you his bank account David Seah. So stop boasting about yourself earning $3 mill in 3 years. You are not that fantastic at your age of 30s.

Hi Jin,
if you want to know more, i can get you in touch with my pal who is in Great Eastern. He makes at least 4 times more than me.
Thanks!
Ron

- Ok people, do your math.

CONTRADICTING??? Rofl!!!!

And now, for THE BEST PART:>>>>>>>>>>>> (Ronaldo, READ this!!!! *Excited*)

hi Dude Luv:whats up..

Lets play ur numerology game. 27 dec 1980 (*his year of birth he claimed)

game on. i give u my agency name where i work too .. Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) i am head of the strategic media department; i.e. Media Director

- A recruit agent, Ms "K" came across all the ********s that R was boasting in 2008/9 and felt extremely disgusted. Given the description of what R had mentioned in his loophole-posts, she then decided to email "SMG" company regarding R's Media Director position (strategic media department).

An email from SMG Associate Director(2009), Mr Ian Loon, replied to Ms K, confirming that their Media Director is not in the late 20s, but in the mid-late 30s instead. (the rest of the contents in the email, i shall not disclose.. Heee....)

*AHEM AHEM* LOL!!!!!!!!!!

Tsk tsk tsk~~~ Dear ronaldo ronaldo, how 'sia suay' is this? If u're desperately thinking to earn $12K basic (not including incentives and a pathetic $200 hp allowance), please buckle up ur EQ and unsound mind before trying desperately to apply for a Director position. And the same goes for your imaginary director/insurance/yacht-selling $$$ friends.

Btw nowadays, $12K basic is not alot to young people. At age 25 in 2007, a cousin of mine bought his 1st condo, earning $9-14k by doing biz on the net. And today, He already has 3 private properties at the age of 30 - all due to his hardwork and intellect. Smart and rich people do NOT brag or boast how much they earn or make, be it young/old. They have much better things to do than wasting their precious time asking everybody "is $4k ok, is $12k ok?". Yes, i do envy my cousin, so he is my motivation to strive hard and reach my goals and be successful in life. I'm 34, and i do not earn a $12k basic, just somewhere is the mid range of $5.8k. In good days and at most, $7.5k max. But i do know that i am elated with my job in the finance sector. Not alot of $ considering we're living in singapore, but good enough to get by with some savings. In order to succeed in life, don't be a daydreamer. WAKE UP!!!

Last but not least, "there goes your '$12K'!". *BOOMZ!*

I had 2 offers, one from a bank for a MA programme and one from SAF for MDES-related vocation (not convenient to disclose on the internet). I am actually quite interested in a military career in fact I did quite well during NS.

I was afraid the MDES scheme might have little prospect especially if one is to leave the service, so I took on the bank's offer.

I'm just wondering would it be too late to join the military under the MDES in my early 30s?

Question regarding MDES,

Hi I am also interested in the vocation AFE(airforce engineer) in RSAF.

Just want to know
+how many round of interviews? what will they be asking?
+Need to do any test or written essay?
+from your 1st interview till you get your offer letter, how long is it? 3months?
+I am a CPL during NSF time, now with 2nd lower degree NTU

I wish I could answer your questions, but due to the nature of the vocation I cannot disclose more. Only a few vocations are offered under the MDES so you should know which one I was offered.

I was a spec with an overseas degree the equivalent of a 2nd upper.

My starting pay as a bank MA is slightly higher than the MDES offer. Assuming after the MA programme I decided banking is not my cup of tea and join MDES (provided I am accepted), would they take my past career into consideration when it comes to remuneration? I suppose I would still join the scheme as ME4.
