Throughout my stay in CS, i have only gotten really bad bonuses in 2009 and 2010 where the year end bonus was 0.5 months. Other that that, i was averaging 5.5 mo a yr with B grades.

C is 1.5, b is 2.5 A can b 2.75 or 3, this is cery standard across all ministries. At the end of the day, u wont be a millionaire in CS but u wont starve.

Thanks all for the advice, i decided to take up offer 2, figured that is the least i could do for my country.
Hmmm... I don't understand why CS always think that those in pte sector earns more. With a higher basic, and a 5.5 month bonus, how can it compare to the pte sector? Most in pte sector can be thankful for a 2-3 month bonus...

Ya agree some private sectors like shipping can be 9mo bonuses, CS is considered average though i know there are many many companies with only max 3mo (inc aws which is not a bonus anyway), at least we get to enjoy MI every yr and promotion comes after every 2 to 5 yrs. out basic salary is lower wor, outside anyhow jump is 10%, CS jump no increment de.

shipping goes in cycles, eg the past 5 years or so has been the dumps and then you get a good 2 or 3 years, so CS is definitely more stable.

CS are probably benchmarking against management positions in pte, eg with at least 2-3 layers of reporting structure. However those positions are few in pte, and I highly doubt that people with no relevant or "generalist" experience can fill these.

i'm in pte, but i always wish to get a cushy CS job. high pay, good bonus, good annual increments, knock off on time, good work life balance.....

the grass is always greener on the other side...

That is a myth.

CS does not assure knocking off on time and having good work life balance. Many of us work our ass off. It really depends on your portfolio.

I agree. When I was a middle manager in a stat board, there was the 9-6pm shift and 1-10pm shift. I ended up doing many late shifts till midnight when I can work without interruption.

In CS (doing policy work), I regularly work from 8am to 8pm/9pm. Now doing operational work, a bit more relax and only stay behind for extra 30 minutes as office have to close by 630pm...

B is 2.5mo of pb, with aws, mid yr, end yr and variable bonuses (sometimes), you get arnd 5mo. I wasnt look at climbing, i still got a B. Have you even been in the CS before, pffft 2.5 to 3.5 includ aws?

My hubb was an A performer last year, his total bonuses amt to 6mo, i suggest you do your calculation properly and not post narrow minded comments.
half-hearted efforts and get a B? And a B = 5months? That's very easy money!

my thoughts exactly!

half-hearted efforts in pte sector will probably get you a C (~1+ mths) or D (bonus withheld).
