To add on,
1. Be down to earth. It's quite rare for youngsters to be down to earth these days. But it really pays.
2. Manage your finance well. Don't buy a car in your twenties. Get a property instead.

oops i have not! Thanks for introducing!
Down-to-earth, meaning in terms of salary expectations? Or in terms of attitude wise?
Well, i have to be down-to-earth because I'm from a private uni. For buying of cars, i actually thought that it becomes a necessity only after you and your wife are planning to have a family, if not i think it's still fine. Taking buses, trains..

By attitude. Attitude determines your salary expectations as well. Be humble. One of the richest man (i think is li ka ching, can't remember) once said that the 'higher' you go, the more you need to be humble.
On cars, many people knows not to. But the temptations is often great as you start working. After a long day of work, the last thing you want is to squeeze onto trains/buses. But still, make an effort to resist the temptation.

Being humble is uselss, there are lots of humble people going nowhere in their careers and lots of arrogant pricks climbing up like nobody business.
What you need is office politics saviness, be aware of situation and people around you and change your pattern accordingly to move upwards.
