This is new to me. You mean you have to purchase your own credit report for submission? Isn't that the responsibility of the employer to do background check? Having a surety is also unheard of (at least to me).

I see the job i applied to being reposted on the closing date, with a new closing date. Does it mean past cohort of applicants have already been sieved through and found not suitable?

It may mean there's a continuous turnover, and more people have quit since the last advertisement.

Nope not under mindef/def related. And a fresh graduate as well. Just got my offer last few days. I would like to share that i started applications from last year Sep going through the interviews from a graduate to be. So have faith be patient and what's yours will come. All the best guys

I would say not really. In my case, my reference checks were done before my 2nd interview and I did not get the job.
