I really don't have the drive to work the same way I was but I worry about my performance ranking. In the previous setting, at least I was fairly appraised and adequately rewarded for my work. However, here in a new setting, there's no guarantee that hard work will be translated into a decent PB.
I'm just a HOT with no intention to progress further. If you were me, would you just cruise at the expense of forgoing a possibly good PB or would you bite the bullet and still give your best shot? I do enjoy my teaching duties, just no bandwidth to handle office politics, or to go above and beyond my duty

At least you are GEO5 now...can you imagine for those who are GEO4 and below?

Average ranked (mostly C+, occasional Bs) IP HOD holding SEO1 grade. HOD since 2016. P asked before sch term if i am interested to make way to guide and groom younger teachers. I told him I will consider but how can I politely hint to him I wish to remain in this post?

If you ask me, i find that its better to be a geo 4 at ceiling than geo 5 at ceiling. Easier to get unfavourably ranked i feel and its harder to outshine other geo 5 as a non KP. Difference in remuneration also less significant if you get a c- at geo5 compared to c at geo4.

Should be because of age and CEP. SEO1 for 10 years.

Time to rotate to grow yourself. Don't block the road for those who want to grow.

Thats why bro wants to stay in current role. It’s easy to stay in comfort zone.

To be really honest, you are just not what he is looking for.
As the HOD rotation is due to start, schools can have two HODs for the same portfolio. The worst-case scenario is that he will promote someone to your post and start transferring your responsibilities and portfolio to the new person. You will be a powerless HOD. If you insist on staying, they may ask the cluster sup to do a swap.
It happened to my friend in a JC. But the P was less polite about it. He chose to exit gracefully. And his current posting was not that bad.
I have learned that P can make KP life really miserable if he/she chooses to. The system is designed to suit public service. We are replaceable. In the eyes of directors and sups, Ps can also be easily replaced.
If I were you, I would tell the P that I would be looking for opportunities in other schools and leave. If you hang on, things can get unpleasant and ugly. You will be the one who feels burnt (and burnt out).
