Has anyone gone for the movement policy exercise to transfer to other ministries before? Was a contract offered, or a permanent emplacement?
Thank you!

I never try before, but I have 3 friends who did it. What they did was to be seconded there first, then at the end of seconded, ask for transfer. Will be on contract for 2 or 3 years (standard procedure I think). Pay cut about 3%.
Most of them took it anyway cause they are thinking of quitting in the first place.

Geo5s or 4s. We were in teaching for at least 8 years before making the switch.

Not the op but also thinking of quitting. Can share more about how you all found the jobs in the other ministry, how to request for secondment there? Thanks.

Just apply for jobs normally on careers@gov
Can let interviewer know you are current civil servant, and ask if they are ok with inter-ministry transfer
Most of the time, they are ok
Don't waste time searching for secondments

Yes, use careers@gov. But u need to make considerations of things like connectplan, PB and all.
If you are to get your connect plan in the next 3 years, looking for secondment first, get the connect plan, and then quit/join the ministry directly.
If you have already taken your connect plan and left a bit inside, is able to forfeit it for the sake of your mental health well being, then look for one directly and then quit.
If you want to keep your PB for this year, u may try to apply next year and ask if you can start work in another ministry in July (quit after June holidays).
