Unlikely. They don't job tease.
If you reject, they approach the others on the shortlist.

I got my verbal offer before I went down for security vetting though, nego-ed abit and submitted supporting documents for their reassessment before agreeing to the final offer. The vetting was in the following week after verbal offer was approved and accepted.

Sounds very fake.
What if the vetting failed?
And there are cases that fail.
The official job offer is only after security clearance is obtained.

Seems like no written offer, just talk only.
Existing civil servants are not exempted from vetting.
If vetting did not clear, then it would have been unfortunate.

pay grade is always a range.
DX10 is roughly 5k+ to low 7k+
DX11 is roughly low 7k+ to 8K+
your salary from private sector doesn't matter as you are entering public service. what they will see in the end is the years of RELEVANT experience and your degree. I won't be surprised if you get offered lower, so you have to be mentally prepared. from what i observed, i have never seen mid career entering at DX11 directly, but my data is limited. you should ask HR.

I entered as DX13S, was a DD in another gov agency, resigned and joined as a Br Hd. They will assess based on suitability and relevant experience mainly, and non-relevant experience can contribute towards the no. of increment steps within grade. My experience is that they will take your last drawn into consideration as well, as long as it within the job grade/band range. Not convenient to share more, better to check with your HR POC if you have any questions, they will usually schedule a call with you for clarifications. Best to prepare a list so that you make the most out of it.
