One must realize that the developed economies are now not a good choice for non-knowledge based work. So-so jobs are either being outsourced or the salaries are stagnant due to immigration.
I saw a program on CNN about Taiwan. They mentioned that salary divide is increasing, and the newer generation is finding it harder to achieve the same things which their parents got easily. I thgt , wow, this is exactly what is happening in Singapore. I think this is happening to all countries where immigrants are there or globalization has led to outsourcing, etc. We know the situation in UK.
The lower to middle strata is getting squeezed due to competition n immigration. The only option is to gain a job which cannot be compromized for low pay, i.e. Knowledge based Jobs. Unfortunately, not everyone can get such jobs.
