If your investment value drops and need emergency cash, you may be forced to sell investment at a loss.

No job is stable but your plan B has to be in place for rainy days.

Still not a good reason to give that little to your parents. That’s like $6 a day. Are you at least contributing to utilities/bills (assuming you are still living rent free)?

Stop virtue signalling on the parents allowance lah, OP can give however much he WANTS to. Children are not investments with a dividend payout

They are not. But how ungrateful are you if you don’t recognise the fact that your parents not only invested money, but also sacrificed time and effort in moulding who you are today. OP has a stable job, $170k net worth, but gives his parents $6/day while living rent free.

To each it’s own, but that’s just morally unacceptable to me. How long more will your parents have left? Do something that makes them happy lah - be it allowance so they no longer have to work so hard, fancy meals every month/fortnight, gifts etc.

Unless you are running some illegal business and making contributions I don't see how your CPF combined can be 110k by age 24.

Not bad considering you started at 1.8k 6 years ago.
