final year student needing advice here, I was unsuccessful with my MA program application at a local bank and am thinking of applying for an entry level position there instead. its for a bo role, is this advisable? how different is the increment and progression going to be? thanks in advance!

Expecting an offer from 2 of the 3 local banks (final round) but I was told that my application has been put on hold. Does that signal the local banks also starting to slow down/freeze hiring?
-BO role in more prestigious side (tech, ai, data and similar)
