got laid off after around 4 months plus on bench.
x + y + z months
x = your notice
y = 1 month
z = current month
so its not about how many years of service (at least for my level, maybe SM above will be different)
worked for more than 6 years, in h&ps
WLB depends on project + ur manager
can be in **** project, but manager shield you
can be in good project, but manager dislike you
---
i was fortunate enough to be in good project and good manager
since LHY took over GT for NDI project, ACN lost its golden egg laying chicken
They have been cutting off external resources, almost 80-90% of teams in NDI project kena cut off, now left around 10%, not sure if will fully cut off.
many people on bench now for L10, L9 etc due to NDI people rolling off (in batches every 6 months or 12)
every other projects are on fire (since when acn projects not on fire?)
acra is the next bigger project, but on deep sheet, hear say ppl who go in, underperfoming ones will straight marked for PIP.
PIP - every project has a top and bottom 10%, those bottom 10-20% (if they feeling generous), will have selected people to go for PIP.
every year end since 2023, TAP ppl kpkb about the promised 2+1
meanwhile on the other hand, ppl kpkb about CL9 (tapper graduate) cant do ****, got to CL9 purely due to the promised 2+1
acn good for stepping stone, or people with good sales skills
acn is a consulting company, not a tech company.
Eventually ur CL will reach to M / SM, where u need to start selling "stuffs", which is part of your kpi too
Tech skills can only bring you so far, but at the end, you still need to sell something, help company generate income, bring profits.

Promotion + PL:
promotion wise, all depends on how your PL represents you.
if they're poor PL with poor communication skills, only read what you write in your workday, the ABCDEFG thing. then good luck to you, slowly wait till your turn.
A good PL will say you contribute this and that, initiate to do this and that bla bla, talked outside of what you wrote in the ABCDEFG, can give you high marks for those points.
Usually ACN put your PL as non-same project person, to prevent any biased / non biased relation, image your PL is your supervisor or direct manager, you did a production issue, he holds grudge on you, forever targeted (altho I havent see anyone with this personality in my 6 years in ACN)
but if your PL has good r/s with you, you have better leverage, because daily in and outs, all visible to him.
non-same project PL, you need to update ur PL what u did and that etc, wont have the full visibility. but most of the PL i know (from other teammates with non same project PL), the PL won't give a **** about you one, every annual review, wait for your ABCDEFG, and just read to the in charge during TD)
but even if you write until got dragon got tiger got phoenix, ur PL just read text off the screen with a mono tone, also gg.
so your PL is very important, a good PL is not easy to find

outside of h&ps SG, still quite ok i believe because those clients are private clients, not public like GT or
SPF or IMDA etc
and people with higher CL, usually will have multiple wbs from different projects as you need to handle more stuffs, so eventually your wlb will not be great if you're looking for stability / family time.

hmm what else.. to spill
