I had thought senior manager is too entry level for someone like me with 17 years work experience. Does this mean I should still apply for sm job and see what the offer is if I get it?

Anyone knows if MX12 Senior officer of Customs has any allowance apart from the basic pay?

Typically, how much bonus do you guys get ?
1 month mid term
1 month year end
1 month PB
1 month for 13th month ?

And usually for those who come from private sector, do they always match / pay cut ?

Because I’m 30 this year, drawing about 160k pa (all in) in private sector.

Think average in ministries is about 3.5 - 4 months

Unlikely public can match that for 30 yo, why would you consider going public?

not sure if they can match yours. depends on your profile also.
i am 34 this year, cross over from private 2 years ago..
was in bank drawing 156k (12k * 13 month), join SB as Senior Manager drawing 8.8k on a 17 to 18 month package.. (1mth aws, 0.5 mid, 0.5 end, 2-3mth PB, 1mth mac)
PB avg performer around 2.2, last year i got 3.5, this yr i got 3.8 (5% cut due to covid)

i would presume "age" play a factor in public sector and to experience a different environment at a younger age .

What was the reason for cross over? Even if they did match your last annual package, but the future increment in public sector will always be lower than banking.
