cut pay is easy. to increase it is difficult. so if can, try not to settle for a pay-cut offer. better opportunities are always there for us.

well-done, surprised to hear the large payout for a young oil trader last year, in general a tough year for most oil traders as market turned pretty tough towards last year end. U probably have good connections for delivery or offtake contracts. Physical or paper? which market - crude, distillate or lights? i heard of a oil trader paid $10m (cant reveal the firm) for bonus for 10x more for the firm last year

wow... the more i read the more i see the disparity in income across similar fields even. and i thought i was doing fairly well.

30 yrs
operations analyst, foreign bank
5 1/2 yrs exp.
80k excl disc. bonuses

serious income earners here. just a word to those discouraged here reading all these high income posts. be content with your lot as long as everything else is going well, family doing good, happy, healthy.

you read in the papers of this guy whose wage got bumped up from 1800/mth to 1900/mth and becos of that no longer eligible for govt handouts. sole breadwinner of family of 5. those are the real needy ones... just remember there're tons of ppl doing worse than you, in singapore itself...

be happy and huat ah!

Tks for the replies to my post.
I agree that pay cut is painful but sometimes, its just not easy to find people willing to give you a chance after being of the market for a while, so in a way, still thankful if there is job offer.
The gd news is I did NOT receive a pay cut after all

Toy girl, 19

I collect $$$ and gifts from my multi-millionaire sugar daddy. No fixed income but last year was around $750K in total, excluding a Porsche 911 Carrera he bought for me for getting my driving license.

I work at most 10hrs/wk. I don't consider shopping and dining with my sugar daddy as part of work though.
