Just want to check if anyone can share about SGX. What is the salary range of a AVP? Do they have 13 month bonus and generally how much is their bonus?

I don't work there, but my guess is 200k.

No way for average AVP to earn 200k. 100k onwards more like it is you are average performer. There is a huge disparity based on performance.

AVP definitely more than 100k, basic is around 12k and bonus in normal year about 8 months.

Bonus of 8 months is a myth if it is based on this year. AVP 12k ? Yes if it is inclusive of Bonus. But new AVPs get abt 8-9 k in basic pay. My brother works there.

AVP range very wide, your brother make 8k is either new or not very good performer. Most AVP easily exceed 10k a month, SGX compete with international investment banks for talent. Offering 8k for AVP while the international banks pay the same amount for entry level Associates will make them laughing stock (excuse the pun) in the financial world.

8k might be minimum for AVP, but I don’t think range is so low. My ex-colleague went for an interview for VP position with SGX before even though he was drawing more than 15k that time already, so my best guess AVP shouldn’t be that far off.

How much you get also has more to do with your negotiation skills then whether you are new or not.

You imply avp is more senior than associate, which is misleading.

In international investment banks (ie barcap), avp is an associate band position. ie

Analyst for all banks are entry level positions
Associate/Avp (barclays) is associate (Deutsche) is associate director (ubs)
VP (b) is associate director (d) is director (u)
Director (b) is director (d) is executive director (u)
MD for all 3 banks is the same

The sad truth is that SGX like any other local financial institutions e.g. DBS, UOB, OCBC, cannot compete with foreign Tier-1 banks for the top talents due to low pay structure. I work in SGX, skills-set learned in exchange is pretty niche, and not really transferrable to banking setting. Typically AVP pay is less than 10k/month, about 20-30% less than your IB peers
Neverthless, it is a good job to retire into, with good work-life balance, unheard retrenchment and pretty consistent bonus of 3-4months in good and bad years

I saw on glassdoor.com that 3 AVPs shared their salary at SGX. It seems to be between SGD6000 to SGD7000.
