Question dilemma

Dear all,

I know this is pretty general.

Imagine you are offered positions as follow:

1. Trainee Oil trader
2. Trainee Shipbroker
3. Trainee Bunker Trader
4. Trainee FX Dealer
5. Traineee Commodity Broker
6. Private Banker Assistant

Which will you choose to jumpstart your career?

Which is the most promising in the long-term context for Singapore and why?

Salary, benefits and prestige are not my foremost concerns. I know where my interests lie but just need some frank opinions from you people...

Thanks!

I choose 4. Not customer facing and if you are good you can quit and trade your own money or start a hedge fund

no. 4 is pretty subjective. most of the positions are customer-facing fx sales.... many companies are looking to exchange currencies for import/export. so u need to talk to the managers, directors and finance department to approve big money loans/exchange. pretty stress when it comes to negociating rates, spreads, and hit sales target.

bank fx trader is really hard to get in, for trainee positions you will be helping to execute orders and administrative work. i dun think it is commissioned based. for trader positions, they only hire highly experienced ones.

Wish I had those options. Lucky you.

1, 3 or 5. To say hello to a fantastically well paid job and future, and plenty of opportunities to job hop across companies.

Actually, depends on the organisation which offered me the job.

I can be a trainee bunker trader in BIG NAME company or
director-sales in small marine company.

Both same pay..

I choose big name if i am going to start my career, then move down to smaller companies/niche companies.

All this is just job titles, how the heck is anybody suppose to comment?

What is "jumpstart" career suppose to mean anyway when you say salary, benefit and prestige are not your concern?
