insead is highly regarded, but definitely not in the same league as Harvard or UPenn (Wharton) or Chicago (Booth).

to be fair , actually these few schs just keep going up n down the top 20 list of biz schs of the world in different ranking tables... whether to regard them as same league i guess there's no right or wrong answer

i also think rankings shd be taken with a pinch of salt, it's impt to know what type of mba (emba part-time or fulltime) u want and what you want to get out of your mba

For 2nd lower NTU i suspect should be:

1st year: $3.1 - 3.2
2nd year: Around $3.4-3.5
3rd year: $3.8

Pretty impressive increments, must be a star performer (if you're being honest with the figure you gave us la).

Hmm back office/ops frustration eh.. I empathize with you. Which function/dept are you dealing in? But do give the NParks idea some 2nd thoughts la becos the work experience you gained in ops although not as glamorous but is quite valuable say even in CPF or IRAS.

I have some fresh grad friends doing what you said, those parks manager post and sometimes i really wonder what are they doing.. in almost layman terms they tell me they're literally like the manager in charge of the bangla maintaining the parks. They're involved in green projects and the new flower garden at marina south but apart from that, very little experience there can be transferred or is relevant at all. Perhaps only consider it if you intend to work for Nparks until retirement?

The ideal job with perfect work life balance is a myth.

Count yourself lucky that you're in the financial industry. At least you are well paid. Others are doing sh*tty work but getting paid peanuts. You're doing "frustrating" work but are paid reasonably well.

Don't ever trade pay for a seemingly balanced working life cos the latter may never materialize.

civil service career progression is slow for normal people i think.

i'm in a ministry and my colleagues were discussing the other day that it takes an average of 8 to 10 years to be promoted from MX13 to MX11.

I suppose those normal people refer to those "C" grader consecutively....

I have seen people getting MX11 as fast as 4th year since starting a career in the civil service from fresh grad for "non-scholar" people

MX13 to MX12 is like confirming you into the permanent scheme of MX scheme after 1 year of service.

Those good one will get their MX11 after 2-3 years in MX12.

Other threads in this forum also reveal a guy with 'pass' degree with NS, always a "C" grader for 4 years consecutively, starting @ 3.3k, now getting 4.4k after 4 years exp as as DXO.
