Autocad 2010 and Microstation V8i widely used amongs engineers?

As the title says.

Is this two programs widely used? and expertise in them valued by the company?

Or is solidworks a better choice?

There is a company that offers trainee position on them but will be contract bound. So wondering is it worth the contract for a cert in these programs.

Autocad is definitely used quite a lot in the industry.... Not sure about microstation
