Hope to hit $1 million by 35 years old. Hubby and I don't receive any financial assistance from parents since we don't come from rich family. After major expense like wedding, honeymoon, housing and reno, we are quite drained. Hence, we are contented to have a net worth of$590k even though it's not alot. Hope to dispose off my hdb housing loan by 35 yrs old and buy my 2nd property. Hubby and I have no intention to buy a car since we are satisfied with public transport. Do not forsee having any other loans except for housing. Meanwhile, Just pray hard that our stock investments will continue to grow.

Wish you the best.

Personally, I do not count my HDB and its loan in my net worth. In fact, I only closely track cash + shares. I would include investment property too, but I don't have one yet.

I'm 36, wife 35. Cash + shares = 800k

Hope to hit 1m in another 2 years.

From the website, net worth is owned assets + cash + stocks + insurance cash value and less off liabilities. If going by this calculation, my net worth is $590k. There is another school of thought. The house which u stay in should not be included as it does not generate any value as you are staying in it. Cpf should not be included too since u might not have a chance to use or withdraw it in future due to government minimum sum policy. If based on cash and stocks, Hubby and i only have $224k.

Able to save $800k Sounds Wonderful. Mind sharing how u accumulate ur net worth these years and your monthly household income as a rough guide.

800k is nothing to shout about. we know it looks good to some people, but (no offense) compared to many others, it's really nothing.

we made 100k from a condo investment (co-invested with a close relative), another 200k from shares which we bought 2 years ago when very few people were buying. all these profits have been realized. still keeping some shares now, worth about 200k.

the remaining 500k is through sheer disciplined saving. we've been working for more than 10 years, with above average salaries (definitely not "high earners" though). i don't think it's hard to save an average of 50k a year over 10+ years. we lead a normal hdb life, with a jap MPV and 2 kids and parents both sides to support.

i hope the seniors here who have achieved so much more can share how they did it.
