Chey Henny, the bottomline is you need a job now and so whatever that comes to you and whoever offer you first you will grab. So ur purpose here is what? Trying to help urself get convince that you have a bright future in the area of Customer service cum help desk duty?
help desk operator is help desk operator. no matter where you go u are still a help desk operator.
Does a toilet cleaner working in Apple get better career progression then that of Sakae Sushi?
End of the day, your future job value boils down to the domain knowledge and experience you gain today. If you are a help desk operator, do you foresee yourself to be a department manager one day even if you work in Apple?
If you just need a job now, then don't waste time to ask about career progression, coz your issue is more of bread and butter and you are likely to accept any low level job which comes to you.

Exactly!
Just take any "job" that pays the most now. As long as the pay is not too miserable...
Then you can go and find your idea job or try other jobs that marginally matches your pay, you never know what you like until you try it thou.
Its not a sin for leaving a "job" as long as you are not under bond/have to pay $$.
Just Join->Learn->Evaluate->Search->Decide->Repeat... meanwhile enjoy the $$

Why so cham? A NTU degree basically brings you anywhere.
Teaching
ICA, CPIB
SMEs and start ups
Don't tell me almost all cannot get in meh. I personally know that ICA is fiercely looking for senior officer positions now because I've been called up by them a few times. SMEs and start ups will just about accept anyone with decent qualifications. You probably just need to look harder.

EXACTLY!!!
for actually ICA, CPIB not that easy, but SMEs are grabbing new grads like crazy now... pay may be a bit.... low (or very low depending on your taste) basically if you put like 2.6k, most likely you get in liao. My advice... just suck it up and take the pay first, then meanwhile keep looking and quit whenever you find a better offer.
If still cannot, try going to ntu ventures to see if the incubation startups are "hiring"... (warning, pay can be EXTREMELY low; i know someone with msce getting 700++) but its an experience if you cant find job better than sit at home.
I am speaking for those with engineering, other degree i duno. Seriously people from ntu SPAM work as what one arh i would love to know
Trust me i am an "engineer", my pay is so low... i feel that trolling in forums during office hours is my right.
