Middle office claiming superiority over backoffice. What a joke..lol. Fact is 1. anyone from back office can do an internal transfer to middle office, but not front office. 2. Middle office don't generate revenue I.e. cost centre. 3. Middle office don't require top grades nor uni to enter, unlike front office. So no need to emphasize you're "middle office" and laugh at the "Ops" guys. Your traders don't give a darn you're credit risk, KYC, settlements or compliance.

Ops is not exactly at the front of the pecking order for retrenchment. not if you are already in a third party ops outsource company, like citco.

Thought UOL grad always like to talk big about how good their degree is and how they manage to get a job that has a three or four thousand starting salary?

i am in sales/trading currently, previously from middle office. graduated from a loca uni engineering school with top 10 global ranking. To me, all BO and MO are the same. so the MO person shouldnt laugh at the BO person.

period, i dont intend to be boastful about my background. you guys better stop being arrogant about FO MO BO. they all perform equally vital functions for a bank.

everytime after work, BO always laugh at MO, coz MO always last to go home. coz they need to wait for BO to shut down first. anything go wrong, MO gets scolded first. not much diff in pay wrt to work hours and stress levels.
