Also, as not all in the panel may even have such a high CEP, how would they know how to assess an officer's CEP to be this high? Genuinely curious.

They usually don't. If CEP is that high in their first school posting, it's probably a prestige scholar. They can if they want to, especially with inputs from Principal and Cluster Supt (who are Superscale officers).

Otherwise they might have come back to school after a solid HQ stint in which they were visible to many more members of senior management, and that's how they earn their high CEP.

The individual might exhibit ability to plan and make impact at the school level, and also to work across department lines.

In the case that members of the panel are unsure of how to weigh in, the SLs will probably lead in the recommendation and discussion.

GEO5 is where 2/3 will get stuck since there can only be so many KPs.

The worst is that most KPs are not on Teaching Track, but can step down as a teacher holding SEO1/2 usually.

If you are a good teacher who can deliver students' results, SLs may even attribute it as due to tuition as they need KPs to run events or deliver students' results.

Your HoD or SH may not even teach better than you ...

To stay in the system and be happy, do not think too much about progression and the $$$.

just wanna clarify this untruth. if KP wants to revert to normal classroom teacher, even if they are SEO2, they have to step down to GEO5 and take paycut. pls don't mislead everyone txs

Speaking from experience, I was a dip ED. Got my degree and got promoted within 2 years. My ex colleague didn't and she waited for 8 years. SLs told her that when it's time, it's time. Sad. Bo pian

8 years for 1 to 2 or 2 to 3?

I believe OP is talking about those who step down and convert to senior teacher or lead teacher. Have seen a lot of ex SH / HOD / VP stepping down to take on teaching track roles while retaining their SEO status. Most lead teachers, if you have noticed, tend to be KPs who stepped down. Very few came up from being a normal teacher, senior teacher route.

Yes. sad but true. therein lies the bottleneck and I'm not sure if that's the reason why the teaching track is so damn hard to go up. A lot of ST/LT/MTT all 'lateral transfer' from leadership track zzz. Takes a hell lot for a HOT to go up the teaching track.

If this year take connect plan, when is the best time to call it quits?

Unregistered 30-03-2022 06:21 PM

What is the promotion increment from GEO2 to GEO3, GEO3 to GEO4 and GEO4 to GEO5? For those promoted last year, what was your increment? Then we can take some reference from there, thank you! :)
