Side question : was anyone promoted the year when there was paycut (during Asian financial crisis time) and the quantum for PB/ VMI affected? Was there "reimbursement" after the crisis was over?

Following year, 2010 economy picked up, bonus was good for year end of 2010. 2011 PB was damn good. Assuming if you getting 3 months, you will be getting another extra 2 months if I remember correctly. So total for that March alone is 5 months plus your salary 6 months. A few of colleagues changed their car. So I believe, once everything resume as per pre covid19, we will be reimbursed. |
Bonus quantum lowered for Mar 2021
Got notified by my boss that PB across the board got lowered this year. FYI all :((

How can you tell that it is fake?

not because whether there is cut or no cut. it is because NO ONE will know except the super top people. unless the poster alone is D level and he / she report to C lvl, PS or Min |

How ironic. |

Some of us have a lot of annual leave accumulated, so it stands to reason that we can be on leave while posting here. |
Because no one knows at this juncture, including HODs

Hi all,
Sry to ride on this post. Just need some advice since there's so many CS around :). I've been in the Pte sector (legal) for the past 15 yrs. Aged 40yo (F) now. If I jumped into govt sector now, will it be worth it? I mean are there still chances of getting promoted, pay increase and so forth. Wanna think long and hard before I make the move. Not even sure if they can match my current pay now. Don't have benefits (no bonuses) for now that's why considering jumping ship. Upside is my boss is very nice lah. Fyi, my highest qualification is a private diploma from MDIS (since I know govt sector rely strongly on our certificates obtained here). TIA. |

Not hard to get and doesn't require the length of a master program. This can increase your competitiveness. That said, if there is a one year master program available and you have the fund for it, try to get one that is aligned with your target gov job. These will put you in a strong position to get hired, negotiating salary, etc |
Got an email from Director
MX11 C+, 2.3 months Is this reduced from last year? Not sure as I was MX12 last year |
Think the usual for mx11 C+ is 2.5 mths. So yea, does seem like a cut if your 2.3 is what you claim it is
|
Any idea of MI range for mx11 C+

My grade is a C, usually for my ministry it is usually 1.25. This year it is 1.19. So there is a cut. My wife as well, she checked her old PB records, it was 1.25 for C grade, it has been reduced.
|
Directors do not tell u the quantum of PB. Pac@Gov does. U are upping the level of fake news. Lol

Hi there, thanks for your reply. Masters abit too far for me tho with kids :). Don't mind getting short term courses to enhance my skill set. Just that I believe the govt will look into our local certs more rather than your experience. Is that true? Coz I saw abt those mid career switch. I worked my way up in the pte sector. So if switching to govt sector brings down my salary again not sure if its wise to do so. May have to start all over again instead of them matching my salary (but I don't mind slightly lower) and 15 yrs of experience. |
