so 10% is consider good.

1.5 = 10% cut still get 1.35

1.5 for avg performer should be a mx 13 or 12 drawing around 4 to 4.5k. so its about a $600 reduction only, i think its still ok

But base on past history, does anyone know if the quantum for PB will reduce when times were bad, example during 2008 financial crisis.

I have heard someone who gotten promoted during the financial crisis and only receive $100 increment instead of the 'usual' $500...

Not sure on the PB, but if salary increment is affected, maybe PB as well

Yes all in. I got $300+ increment in 2017. Maybe it has gone up now. Or maybe my agency lowballed me.

If the service wishes to stay competitive and attract the best talent, then yes a promotion increment should be minimum 4digit. But if they do that, they must also make it much easier to sack underperforming individuals, just like in the private sector.

Maybe most of them, except the smallest of SMEs like small family run provision shops?

Just read through this forum, the average earnings and savings are much too high for $50 or even $500 increment on promotion. It has to be in the thousands each time for it to add up.

The only thread where increment is off the charts low seems to be the Civil Service thread.

I got $300 promotion increment from MX13 to MX12, and $500 for MX12 to MX11. I'm told this is normal. Hmm.........

ya.. there is a small range, i believe it also depends on the "grade" you have at your promotion year.
e.g. you got a A and promote is diff from you got a C+ and promote becauae the increment you get comprises of 2 component, promotional increment (i think same for all) and merit increment for that year

alittle deeper, i believe CEP also matters

and by the way, if you realise.. your increment is higher as you promote at higher grade.
so your increment is not very much diff from mine =)

e.g
13 to 12 = $300
12 to 11 = $500
11 to 11a = $800
11a to 10 = $1200

My increments for 12 to 11 and 11 to 11a were both about $600. Hope my 11a to 10 is not the same...

The example given is just an example.

The amount given to you will also be subjected to your department, current economy and the budget allocated given by the parent ministry.

Some get more, some get less...

Working at Statboard now. Just wondering if tender resignation now with last day on 31 Jan, I should be clearing leave from 30 Dec onwards. If I got a job offer in between, can I join before 31 Jan assuming the new employer is fine with it?

No? Because you’re still part of the sb until 31st Jan.

It is a risky move. Unless you are willing to work undocumented on that day and not being paid for that one day.

If you do that, you cannot declare that day as your official working day, but merely visitation.

In my payroll for this month, my 13th month has an additional $50 'productivityCIF' tagged to it. Anyone has any idea what this is for? My first time seeing it.

Unregistered 11-12-2020 11:31 AM

Check the glossary in pac@gov.

Unregistered 11-12-2020 12:42 PM

Thanks but that doesn't tell me what I received it for (productivity schemes). Anyone else has ideas?
