Hi all,
I wonder if two years of B grade will result in promotion? Or it does not work this way? |

When I had my first round of maternity leave 3 years ago, my grade for that year was also a C+ (2.75) (in HQ) I served in school B in 2019. So I wonder how come there's so much difference in quantum |

Don't give inaccurate information.
If you were in training for the work year (i.e. still in NIE), you do not get a prorated PB because you are 1) not fully trained and 2) there is no work contribution to be appraised on or given bonus for. When you get posted into a school, i.e. Apr 2019. And have worked as a full fletched teacher from Apr - Dec 19. You will get a PB for that year and ur sch can decide whether to appraise u or give u a default C. This bonus is prorated (i.e. u won't get the full 1.5 months (if C), but only 3/4 of it since u worked only 3/4 of the year) |

I'm guessing it is due to a few reasons. School A which you have served in earlier, either the school leaders decide the quantum differently, or you are more recognised for your achievements. School B, since 2019 is your first year, it could be because of that. Or the school leaders might allocate the quantum differently as compared to school A. The trend is that, the more Senior/Lead or experienced teachers there are in the higher grades, highly likely the bulk of the money goes there. This has been verified across multiple schools for a number of years (i.e. School X with a proper hierachy of teachers from 0-5 years all the way to 25-30 years in service, the C quantums are low. As compared to School Y with majority 10 - 15 years and 0-10 years, the C quantums will be higher). I have been exploring and cross-referencing to see if there is a fixed formula. But it seems pretty much just the school board allocates then just clear with the cluster superintendent. |

Any stat boards recieved their PB grading and quantum?
|
GEO 3: c+ 2.2 months last year
GEO3: c+ 2 months this year |
MX11A, 'B', 3 months

MX 11A, B, 3.5 mth
|
GEO4, B, 2.75
Was 2.1 for C+ last year. |
Mx 11 C 2 mths. I was expecting 1.75. Or is 2 normal. Means mx 11 C+ is 2.5? And B is 3?
|
Odd. Those saying lower quantum...
I got higher than last year for the same grade. What gives? |
Performance bonus 2020
The lowest PB in my 7-year career...
C - 1.25 |
Hi guys,
Just wondering who actually gets A? I heard from wife there might only be one teacher in a cluster. And if get A, it is sure promotion of course. Is that true? Just curious. |

This performance bonuses the management already decided way before Covid happened.. Not that I am spreading false news but we have to mentally prepare for that since economy is not thriving that maybe we wouldn’t have bonuses during July and Dec 2020 Like that you satisfied ma? Just to remind you that we CS people are humans too. Don’t spread negativity and hostility amidst the sad situation now. Our common enemy is Covid 19 not own people la! You should blame it on the virus if you don’t have any bonuses. |

The unfortunate truth is that they need to retain talent. If not, many will join the private sector, and people like you may have nothing to eat. |

Fast forward 10 years, I got to say, I had good times where the bonus is undeclared to the public and it is in the region of 6 to 10 months. I had my bad times where my entire unit was merged and 80% of my colleagues were released within days. I always know job security is never part of the equation for my job and businesses come and go. I am actually happy that our government provided our CS with a good pay package and never shut down like our friends in US when there is a political deadlock. Those in the CS, no matter talented or not as claimed earlier, need to eat and cloth their families. They have taken the well travelled path with job security while the rest of us explore uncharted terrain and potentially gain Instant richness. They are our brothers and sisters as well. My son and daughter go to school where they are taught well, I want the neighborhood safe with police presence, I want people to defend us 24/7 and Most recently, I want frontliners when the Covid 19 virus comes to our shore. The list goes on. They also deserve their pay for their hard work. Just that it was declared In public shouldn’t make it a subject of hate for the rest of us. It has always been a choice. If you feel the public sector is all that wonderful, then go join them. I do have many colleagues who was from CS and was so happy that they managed to get out of CS. The grass may not always be greener on the other side. Each his best. |
