C is obviously a bad grading, who says it is different from getting C in an exam?

Common sense. Otherwise why do A and B even exist?

1st year in HQ out from school, confirmed is C.
First time in CS ah?
You come out NIE also, 1st year also C right?

Unregistered 21-03-2022 11:20 AM

It seems there is a lot of expectations here.

1. Bosses will tell you there is no quota. Wrong. There is always a quota. My supervisor always ask me who in my team should get what grade and why.
2. The quota is based on bell curve. 80% falls within the middle tier of C (of coz, there is C+, C, C-).
3. If you expect to be promoted, ask yourself why? You cannot be expected to promote because you have done your job. Many people have done their jobs. What have you contributed more than the person next to you?

Hi it is normal since you are new. What is the pb you received? Think that can differ across the newly joined

unfortunately, its just hard for many to understand because many people do not study economics and do not understand that there is a finite resource given (pot of gold)

Unregistered 21-03-2022 01:25 PM

Hahaha .. then like that how?

Is it true that the PB quantum of the exact same PB grade of the same rank could be different?

For example, two officers of MX11 getting 2.9 mths and 3.5 mths for exact PB grade of B shown in the PB letter?

I am also interested to find out. Anyone can share more insights?

Unregistered 21-03-2022 04:18 PM

Any promotion news ??

Ppl still asking for confirmation. I can confirm that this is true for EO scheme (MOE).

Others will have to answer for MX scheme. I've seen differing opinions in the thread.

Yes, same PB grade for MX can yield different PB quanta. Even within same PB grade, there is ranking so PB quantum is graduated.

Be the first to bust the myth. Go ahead and resign this week.

Unregistered 21-03-2022 05:01 PM

I’m MX12. Got B last year which was 2.38 months. This year also got B but the quantum will decrease or increase? The PB rate for B used to be 2.5 before. Last year it decreased due to economy.

Unregistered 21-03-2022 05:03 PM

Is 2.5nth bonus considered normal for a promotion year?

Unregistered 21-03-2022 05:07 PM

Promotion news out on 24-25 Mar. keep fingers crossed.

I thought the differences are between B-/B/B+.
That’s why the PB letter will only indicate a universal B and not show B- or B+

Some say PB letter will show exact grade (e.g B-, B, B+) while others say it will only show the universal B grade.

Anyone know?

Does it matter ? It doesn’t change the quantum that you will be receiving.

Will indicate B or B+ so far haven't gotten a B- so don't know if it exist. I know got D, C-, C, C+, B and B+.

Unregistered 21-03-2022 09:12 PM

I got B+ and C+ before

Unregistered 21-03-2022 09:18 PM

Is it possible to get a B grade after second/third year in HQ? Or usually HQ harder to do well? Like that why people go HQ

Unregistered 21-03-2022 09:19 PM

If so hard to get good grades in HQ, then like that hor better to stay in school ah?

I think it is possible but you have to do jobs beyond your jobscope. Not only that but you have to do it well.

People go HQ is to bump up their CEP if they perform well. Must play the long game.

Does it mean they can get C grades throughout HQ stint but still can bump up CEP?

Unregistered 22-03-2022 12:07 AM

Issit possible to be posted to a higher job grade post, but still not promoted?

Assuming you MX12 now, then they post you to MX11 post but you still stay as MX12?

MX12 is executive level. Means they post you to MX11 e.g Assistant Director post.

You designation will change to Assistant Director but your rank remains as MX12.

Got such thing?

What are the benefits/cons staying in the MSO scheme vs MX, for non degree holder?

I joined a stat board as a fresh grad in Aug 2021. My PB is 0.75. Is that considered Low?
