I think fresh grad can expect above around 4.5k for a 2:1 up to 5k for a FCH male? Anything less than that, i don't think they would accept anyway.

It's high because it is a specialised scheme.

Offered about 4.2k in 2018

Can confirm. I also got third class honours and was offered $4240 at GovTech for cybersecurity. I don't think we are on MX scheme so it's probably a bit higher than usual.

It's high because they hire the cream of the crop and the best of the best from the Ivies and our public unis

Give some hopes to those in the 2:1. Those below a 2:1, i think you would do fine applying to the MX schemes.

2:1s dont stand a good chance of getting into the professional services. You’d need a first and from NUS/NTU if not top foreign universities to be competitive. Normal 2:1s are too run of the mill.

I’ve heard that they hire only the top 1% of applicants or so and thousands apply annually

So for example, MFA is a specialised scheme - then i think they use the FSO scale?

My question is are MOE Teacher’s (GEO) a specialist scheme also? What about Mindef (DXO), or some special functions in MHA that does not follow the MX scale?

It seems like specialised scheme pay more than the regular MX?

There are only several specialised schemes (by which we mean premium schemes). These include:

Foreign Service Scheme
Legal Service Scheme
Economist Scheme

And one or two more. They pay much more and are amongst the most prestigious jobs in the public sector.

Govtech indeed can pay slightly higher than many other SBs. but also note that there is no longer 13th month in govtech.

Hence your 4200 is somewhat identical to 3900 in other SBs (with 13th month). Still a good number though. the SB i am in just offer a fresh grad (2nd class upper, w/o ns) earlier this year 3.5

How much is the difference between each class? So from your case then its around 3.9 +NS for a FCH?

Any idea stat board pays more than ministries?
