For sharing purpose, personally I think 3.2k salary for good hons is reasonable for Singapore Customs, they are after all not the core function of MOF. They are like a sore thumb sticking out for the Money Men.

They used to be under ICA and maybe one day they will be transferred back to MHA and perhaps only then will their salary match that of the Home Team officers.

Get your facts right, Singapore Customs was NEVER under Home Team.

Actually Singapore Customs is considered Stat Board or Ministry? Or none at all?

dunno y u guys think custom is very low paying.
yes, they dont pay as well as other uniform groups. but their pay is on bar, if not better, than many sb/ministries.

Actually, the older part of Customs was under the Home Team when it was still known as Customs and Excise Department within the Singapore Immigration & Registration (SIR). SIR was then split up into ICA and Customs in 2003.

Singapore Customs is under the Ministry of Finance. It is not a stat board. It is an agency under MOF. The hierarchy is comparable to how home team departments like SPF and SCDF is under the parent Ministry of Home Affairs.

Hard to believe la no offence, and let me tell you why:

1. If you got good hons degree, will the Customs be your top pick or even top few pic of sb or ministries to join?
2. Speaking of uniform group, does the customs comes out top in your mind? Or the big 3 of SPF, SAF and SCDF?
3. Not many people is even aware customs is under mof. Most think they are the same as ICA.
4. And I don't remember seeing them at any uni career fair or job fair I've been to. And I've seen even prisons doing active recruitment.

MOF maybe pay top dollars. They are after all a hot destination to be at. But not the customs.

Ps: I believe the customs is considered a stat board. Need someone familiar to confirm.

Customs was never part of SIR. They are 2 different entity. In 2003, the checkpoints function of customs merged with SIR to form the current ICA.

Someone who is working in Stat board, care to share the increment that you have?

Annual Increment, does performance affect the increment? If yes, the highest increment one employee can get is? Lets say performance: B -> how much? performance: c -> how much?

When does the first increment takes place? (Right after I work for a year?)

Thank You
