However, I have another offer frm the private side that starts on coming Monday (received offer today). I'm more keen on joining the stat board due to stability. Should I reject the private offer first and take the risk/pray that background checks are ok? Or should I join the other organisation first then officially tender when I receive written offer from statboard. (but will it be too harmful on the reputation for quitting few weeks in)

Once you receive verbal offer, the chance of rescind is low, unless you have financial embarrassment, criminal records or major problems in your past employment (all of which you already know).

One idea is you can contact the private company and indicate you require 2 weeks consideration

Hello all, can anyone provide some insight on your successful application process for the ministry of home affairs? I am joining from private and seems like there’s so many security checks in place for the candidate. Seems like after first interview submitted form means successful but was told that the panel has not come to a conclusion regarding the interview. Did anybody experience this as well?

Adding on to this question. Anyone knows the rough estimate of the timeline for MHA?
Interview -> verbal offer is ? weeks/or unsuccessful application

Hi, received an email from a ministry HR inviting me to apply for their job openings. Is it normal? Does this mean if I do apply, high chance I'll get it?

Yes it’s normal especially if you are FCH. I even received multiple calls from the same ministry -MFA, but didn’t apply. But it is not a high chance you will get the job. You still have to go through all the necessary tests and interviews.

Wow, I never knew that cos I'm not fch. So seems that Ministries prefer fresh grad fch to supplement their scholars.

Hello!
I see that SB/Min hiring process is super long from previous thread.
Wondering if anyone has experience with HSA and MOH hiring timeline?

They always send an automated email saying to wait for 4-6weeks before they contact you. Meaning if after 6 weeks still no news for first interview, can give up already?

And does entry roles always have more than one round of interview?

Anyone can help with this?

Hello!
I've got my second interview for a SB tomorrow and was wondering if you guys sent an individual thank you email to each panel person immediately after the interview?

My first panel interview was done over WhatsApp group chat and all the communication with the panel was done through there so I sent a Thank You message in there afterwards.

This is my first time getting through to the second round, interviewing with higher-level people. Should I ask them for their emails, or ask the HR hiring manager, or just check on the Singapore Government Directory?

Just want to see what's the best action to take here because I want this job and I'm nervous.

In that case, I would just decline the private offer.

I usually try to avoid backing out after agreeing as I don't think it reflects well.

private coy can also take back after they offer you.

OP be selfish. Ask private coy to wait or accept and hope SB gets back to you during your notice period.

Either way you don't lose out

I don't bother to. So far I don't find the sessions extremely formal and the HR don't really ask questions too, they are more like meeting facilitator. Even the room for nego is unlike private sector jobs.

What I do is to thank them for their time before ending the call. After the interview, only HR will contact you if successful and all conversations is through them.
