there is no retrenchment, those that have golden handshake are all hired by "st external vendor"

i am underpaid as fk. 3year working exp (2 years in ST), promoted this year but am E5 getting below 3.3k mthly, am st contract with 0.5mth bonus, and best of all i have band 1 grading for 2 years. my previous bonus also 0.5mth. i can show proof to mods for my below 3.3k salary, 0.5mth bonus and band 1

i signed my st contract, but really felt 2 years wasted for nothing.

hahaha, i left ST and restarted my career bro, also 2 yr wasted. i am like a sai gang warrior, fight fire here and there, whatever **** also touch abit. when i go interview, they say my exposure not deep enough to be senior......

E5 5k fresh grad offer with tech job scope... seems to be above average from what I see around here. Worth taking the offer and jump after 2 years?

Software engineering? Which school did you go to? Local uni or private uni?

All of them or internal staffs as well? Because the news sounds confusing.

Increment barely cover global inflation rate. Sianz.

8D and FMEA are very commonly used engineering methods.
8D is for problem solving
FMEA comes in design or process objective which assesses risks of design / process to coordinate a follow up action to reduce the risk computed by a predefined scoring system.
Asking customers to 'close eye' in the normal world is as good as disrespecting their rights to good quality goods.

How can this even be something to consider for any professional with self respect? What a disgrace to all engineers.

What's the salary increment range for band 2?

Same. Band 2 grade with 1.75%. Any band 2 got higher than that? Times are bad. Previously, received 3% with the same grade back in 2019…

mugenboy 06-07-2021 03:27 AM

Outsource (STE Staff)

So only Perm Staff bonus will be 2-3 months? Heard Outsource (STE Staff) always get nothing.

Some divisions already down to 1 to 2% increment back in 2019. That was when they were still using the alphabet gradings.

Unregistered 06-07-2021 11:02 AM

Perm here. I also got a measly 1.7%. Really bad. I know I shouldn't be complaining in view of the current times.

Sighs, have a colleague in the aviation insurance industry getting 2%...sibei sianz

Unregistered 12-07-2021 11:31 AM

Still quite piss that Annual Leave can only carry forward 5 days starting from 2021. Don’t know which idiot go and implement this lousy rule. Come on at least 50% carry forward is more appropriate.

Looks like public sector best. Can carry over one whole year of vacation leave to the next year.

how many vacation leaves u have each year?

Unregistered 12-07-2021 01:27 PM

If really so uptight about the leave issue, just take MC to cover the days. Thought this type of thing is self evident in working world alr.

Please la. My outsource colleague have it worst.
Her contract just renewed the week before the salary increment is announced.

She checked with HR. No increment.
For 2 years.

She is looking for another job right now.

How can compare to outsourced colleagues. Obviously outsourced employees have it worst since they are not fulltimers right. Got any company on earth which treats outsourced employees better than its own fulltime employees?

Obviously if u keep comparing with people more jialat than you, you would be better.

Outsourced staff are full-timers, just that they are under permanent payroll from STE. Being a full-timer and a permanent staff is in different context.

Just like a person can be a permanent staff but work part-time.

Ya la if they so good then go join mnc la no need to kpkb here. If cmi no mnc want them too bad. ST never owe them any money also.

Doesnt matter who pays their payroll. Outsourced means the benefits confirm worst. If not they would be fulltimers already. Dont you get the point?

In order to improve our lives do we constantly compare ourselves with people who are worst off than us?

I'm just stating how STE classify their staff. Don't you get the point?

It doesnt matter. What matters is that outsourced employees definitely has worst benefits than fulltimers.

Career advice

Hi guys.. I have been working in ste for 6.5yrs n counting. Joined as an E5, now still the same despite increasing workload from just doing 1 system to 7 systems now. I have always been getting band 2 and only recent I got a band 3, and still no promotion. There was no increment last year, $25 increment this year. I feel that there's no career progression.. Should I move on?
