Yea. What's your grade. Wanna know also

xiaopangbronco 20-03-2019 07:51 PM

E6 can be from 3800 onwards to 5k under old scheme. 5.5k normally is m1

xiaopangbronco 20-03-2019 07:54 PM

Old scheme or new scheme, I really find this company a laughing joke. The cb management dare to say we matching government policy of increasing engineer salary. Govt sector they are really increasing base salary 10-20percent without deducting the bonuses. Here is take your bonuses and split some into your base pay to increase your salary.

Is it now the case that HR mostly give fresh grad engineer a 1 year contract?

Yup. IT is moving to this trend. Contract first then convert to perm if really can perform.

I am applying as a fresh grad. The JD didn't state that it is a contract role. Later on I was offered the role as a 1 year direct contract, which was quite a surprise to me.

Just accept lor. Contract or not doesn't matter. Benefits is the same.

Except few years down the road ur leave still 14 days if u are contract while perm staff will grow after every few years.

But contract also got benefits. U got more bargain power for increment after a year.
Provided u are good enough for the company to retain you.
Perm staff increment is like peanut only.

Or u can request to convert to perm if your performance is accepted by your manager .
BTW I am a contract also haha

Titles in ST

Looking through LinkedIn and trying to decide whether to join. Noticed that there are directors and AVP, Senior manager. What is the difference in terms of the job grade? HR mentioned that

M6 - SVP
M5- VP

But below that, how does director or AVP or Senior manager map to the M grade?

Unregistered 25-04-2019 09:40 AM

What is the normal pay range for M2 role?
Is it considered team lead/principal engineer role?

Unregistered 30-04-2019 07:47 AM

Was offered E6 < 1 year ago, 5k

InfoComm

Unregistered 30-04-2019 07:50 AM

E6 position, offer me 5k salary. No shares, was told initial my salary will be only around 4.6k+ but due to policy change they converted the yearly “aws” into monthly payment to inflate the pay to look good and pace the Govt sector

ST Veteran 02-05-2019 05:21 PM

ST Veteran here:

E5 = Entry level - 3.3k - 4.5k
E5.5 = Sr Engineer 4k - 5.2k
E6 = Team Lead 4.4k - 6k
M1 = Managerial level (Bottom of Food Chain) 4.8k -6.5k
M2 = 6.5k - 7.8k
M3 = 7k - 9k
M4 = 8.5k - Not sure liao

Ex-ST or current ST laojiaos please come and validate!

Above range applies to STE, STK only. For STM, and Aero, the PB is very different.
Also, in between each level is about 2 to 3 years of wait before the next promotion...

Am a recent joiner at the M4 grade. Around $14k /month but that could also be due to the adjustment upwards after removing AWS.

How old are you and which area you applying to? Aerospace,marine, electronic or land systems? So far from what I see. Young ppl tend to leave after 1 to 2 years due to the work culture. I have 3 ppl leaving in my team from last month till now due to policy changes.

Working for close to 10 years already. Land systems. I was asked to attend 2 rounds of interview within a span of less than a week. After that, there was radio silence....

Maybe you can contact the hr who arrange the interview for you? Do update us if you got the job.

A lot benefit cut off like no national day bonus and no 13 month. They include so called 13th month in your basic pay to make it look good. So newcomers please do take note in case you are not aware.
No more option to purchase shares too for newcomer

Staffs wise who work for long there basically not receptive to changes. Hard to communicate with them. Young ppl hardly stay for long as most of them are pushed to do the work.

You outsource or perm staff? They take the “aws” and divide into 12 and hide into your salary
